Bill Murray anchors this modern reworking of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol as Frank Cross, a ruthless TV network president who clawed his way up from the mailroom and never looked back. Three spirits come for him before the night ends, starting with an unhinged cab driver from his past, followed by a slapstick-happy fairy and a towering headless figure from the future. Richard Donner directs, and Murray’s sourness gives the whole thing its edge.
